The School of Communication at Han Chiang College offers Diploma in Mass Communication and Diploma in Broadcast Journalism. Both programmes are designed to produce graduates who are confident, creative, skilful and versatile to embark on a challenging career in the communications industry.
The good mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience in both programmes coupled with the 10-week work placement in the communications industry ensure that graduates are industry-ready, giving them an edge in the job market.
Upon completion of the Diploma Programmes, students get the opportunity to further their education at distinguished universities in Australia, China, Taiwan and United Kingdom through the College's international collaborative education links.
The two-and-a-half year Diploma in Mass Communication provides students with professional knowledge and hands-on skills necessary for a challenging career in the mass media and communications industries.
Apart from the core modules, students pursuing this Diploma need to opt for any of the three areas of mass communication in their second and third year of study -Broadcasting, Journalism and Public Relations and Advertising.

The Diploma in Broadcast Journalism is a two-and-a-half year programme where students will learn the skills of news gathering, writing, reporting, filming and editing to produce radio and television news and other non-fiction broadcasts such as magazines and documentaries.
The programme, designed to produce highly trained professionals for the media industry, combines both the theoretical and practical applications of broadcast journalism. Students of this programme will learn through lectures, workshops and actual on-air duty in the radio and television studios (HCTV) of the College.
Students will also have an opportunity to learn the ropes of the profession from industry experts who will be invited as guest lecturers.
Apart from exposure in producing on-campus news and nonfiction radio and television programmes, students will get a chance to do a 10-week training stint at the television, radio and cable networks and stations to enhance their employability.
