DIPLOMA FOUNDATION 3+0 PROGRAMME

INTRODUCTION

The School of Multimedia & Information Technologies endeavours to provide quality and affordtable academic courses for aspiring students who are looking for entry into the exciting world of computing, business information systems, creative multimedia and networking technologies.

As such, the syllabi of our courses have been specifically designed to provide our diploma graduates with solid foundation in the basic principles of computing, multimedia and information technology, besides providing a variety of specialised courses that are vocationally-orientated and highly sought after by prospective employers.

To this end, the School of Multimedia & Information Technologies has developed three specialised computing programmes to train and prepare students to excel in the competitive multimedia and IT industry i.e. Diploma in Multimedia Communication Design, Diploma in Information Technology and Diploma in Network Technology.

In addition to these diploma programme, the School offer Foundation in Computing to prepare students for the 3+0 degree programme in Computing which is in collaboration with the University of Wp;verhampton, UK

The Diploma in Information Technology is designed with a strong systems development orientation, whereby students are exposed to various programming methodologies and applications to ensure that they possess a strong base in systems development. Apart from that, this diploma also provides students with a broadbased training of relevant IT disciplines, covering key areas such as networking, multimedia and web design which ensures employability upon graduation.

The School of Multimedia and Information Technologies endeavours to provide quality and affordable academic courses for aspiring students who are interested in pursuing a challenging and exciting world of creative computing technologies and multimedia. To this end, the Diploma in Multimedia Design has been specifically designed to provide our graduates with skills and competencies that are highly sought after by prospective employers. It aims at producing graduates who have a mastery of a range of multimedia design skills, supported by professional skills in the area of visual communication, computing, animation, media production and design management.

In a continually evolving technological multimedia environment and the increasing demand for high-quality multimedia design products by the Malaysian economy, the Diploma in Multimedia Design develops flexibility and adaptability in its approach to design through an emphasis upon transferable skills applied to specialised study. Multimedia defines a range of computer-based media production, processing and delivery technologies, and describes a genre of communication characterised by the digital convergence and integration of graphics, text, audio, video, animation and interactive computing. The Diploma in Multimedia Design focuses on maximising the potential of multimedia as an effective communication tool through the design of content, appropriate use of audio / video technologies and its presentation in business, computing and consumer fields and as a medium of creative expression.

DIPLOMA IN NETWORK TECHNOLOGY KPT(JPS)(KA5926) 4/10

The Diploma in Network Technology is a specialised computing programme that trains students to master industry-standard network technologies and to effectively manage computer networks in organizations. This programme allows for flexibility in which students specialize in communication systems and networking and yet are adequately equipped with basic systems development and computing skills to ensure that they are versatile and job-ready upon completion of the programme. Students may also opt to undertake industry professional examinations to enhance their standing in the industry upon graduation.

3+0 BSc Hons Computing (University of Wolverhampton, UK) KPT(JPS)(KA10562) 10/14

The 3+0 BSc (Hons) Computing is an internationally recognised programme offered by the University of Wolverhampton (UoW), UK at Han Chiang College (HCC). The programme, renowned for its academic rigour and strong emphasis on professional practice is delivered under the stringent supervision of UoW in accordance with local regulatory regulations to maintain the highest quality of excellence.

Both UoW and HCC have the reputation for offering quality academic programmes that are recognised by higher educational institutions and the industry.

Students can choose to complete the entire programme in HCC or study part of it in the home campus of UoW in the UK.
